ID Requirements for Our Services
🤔 Why do we need to see ID?
To prevent fraud and money laundering, we must verify the identity of all shareholders or owners when forming a company. This verification process is required by UK law.
We may also require verification for services such as a Business Address.
Do I need to do anything?
Most of our customers don't need to do anything. 🧑 We'll automatically check your ID and address using the details you've already given us in your company order form.
🧑🤝🧑 Who needs to provide ID?
If we require ID from you, we'll inform you directly, specifying who needs to provide it, so you don't have to figure it out yourself.
Here's an overview of who we're legally obligated to collect ID from:
- Anyone who buys a company formation package, an address service, or certain company secretarial services like share transfers or issuance.
- All shareholders or members who hold more than 25% of a company or LLP.
- Anyone using our Business Address Service and wanting mail forwarded.
Please note, this list isn't complete, and we might need to ask for proof of address or ID from other individuals based on specific situations.
